What is the Red Carpet Camp Out?
I'm taking 8 dynamic consultants to a luxury glamping site about 90 minutes west of Brisbane for a completely different networking experience. The best part? We'll be almost entirely off the grid – no phone signal (though our conference tent does have WiFi).
Why I created this experience
After countless Zoom calls and conventional networking events, I wanted to create something that allows for deeper connections in a refreshing environment. As consultants, we rarely get the chance to disconnect and truly engage with each other without digital distractions.
Behind the scenes of the opening ceremony
This week, we had our first group call to introduce everyone, and I was thrilled by how quickly the conversation flowed.
• Created an AI-generated video using Sora (through ChatGPT Pro) showing consultants around a campfire
• Edited it into a movie trailer with everyone's names in the credits
• Developed a "vibe scale" for the retreat (structured vs. spontaneous, luxury vs. survival, etc.)
• Had everyone use ChatGPT to predict what I might do at the retreat (" most likely to...")
What to expect during our 48 hours
Steve from Mind and Body Travel has organised an incredible itinerary including:
• Fireside snacks and charcuterie boards each evening at 5PM
• Gourmet dinners followed by marshmallows by the fire
• A guided nature walk on the property
• Two 2-hour facilitation sessions led by me
• Plenty of time for both structured learning and spontaneous conversations
• Final day focused on implementation planning
