🌴155. #Rant Just because you worked hard doesn’t mean it’s worth more

You’ve probably seen this post floating around. It goes something like:
“If you get the job done in 60 minutes, it’s because you spent 10 years learning how. They owe you for the years, not the minutes. Charge accordingly.”
Now, I used to agree with that...
But these days? It kind of drives me up the wall.
In this episode, I break down why I think this mindset is outdated, self-serving, and—frankly—not helpful when it comes to actually pricing based on value . I share:
- Why no one owes you for your sweat and tears
- The difference between time spent and real-world impact
- How AI and rapid learning are reshaping what’s valuable
- Why efficiency is the value (not something to feel guilty about)
- My early mistakes in proposals and how I’ve reframed them
Let me know what you think: Are we overvaluing experience and undervaluing usefulness?
